Eastern State Penitentiary PA ESP was opened in 1829, and it closed its doors in 1971. It was in use for 142 years. This
imposing prison sits on 10.5 acres, and was host to 980 cells. Originally this prison was built to house 300 inmates,
but in the 1920's its population swelled to over 1700 inmates. There was much pain and suffering behind
the walls of the prison, from normal prison activity, to solitary confinement and death row... It is said
to be one of the most haunted places in America. It did house the famous Al Capone in one of the Cell Blocks.
The story says that Al Capone claimed while he was ESP he was constantly haunted by the ghost of James Clark, one of Capone's
victims from the ST. Valentine's Day Massacre, which Al was doing time for. There are all kinds
of reports of Paranormal activity behind these walls, and is now open to the public for tours, and ghost hunts. It is
a huge attraction for anyone interested in the Paranormal. It has been featured on the TV Show "Ghost
Hunters" and other documentarys . So CPEAR went to check it out.... Here are some pics of our
trip to ESP.
