The Investigation:

We arrived at the residence around 7pm with 8 CPEAR investigators present. We set up all of our equipment which consisted of a four camera surveillance system, three stationary camcorders, and digital recorders. We had one surveillance camera placed in the basement shooting down the hallway, once in the master bedroom, one in the living room shooting into the kitchen, and one in the kitchen. We were also using a hand held camcorder to document all of our investigation sessions to back up any evidence we might catch during the investigation. EMF meters, KII meters, and a new piece of equipment called "The Ovulis 1" was also used.

After we set up our equipment, we set out to try and disprove a few of the claims the client had. One thing we were able come up with an alternative answer for was the master bedroom door opening on its own. If the door is is not latched closed and someone comes in through the front door or back door, it creates a suction and will make the bedroom door open or close slightly. Drafts from open windows will also have the same effect.

Another claim we were able to recreate was the sound of someone sitting on the corner of the bed in the basement. There is a squeak in the floor directly above one of the bedrooms on the 1st floor. If your lying in bed in the dark trying to fall asleep and someone on the 1st floor walks on the squeaky spot, it creates a squeaking sound and could sound like someone sitting on the bed. That is just one possible explanation, but may not be what is always going on. (you can see us doing this in the video at the bottom of the page).

While investigating, we had teams of 2 set up on each floor and one person in front of the monitor at all times. Co-founder Mike video taped each investigative session. Each team had a 30 min session while the other teams stayed quiet until it was there turn. During the sessions, we did EVP work, KII work, and tried out the new piece of equipment "The Ovulis". 

At one point during the investigation, Carrie, Dan, and Mike were in the kitchen when a low sounding hum was heard coming from the living room area. This was captured on Mike's camcorder. We were unable to locate the source of the hum and only heard it for a split second.

At another point of the night, Mike "Sal" Salerno was using the Ovulis in the basement bedroom. This device works as an EMF meter, but uses energy and translates it into words. He was in the basement bedroom when he opened the door to the closet, the Ovulis said "mess". The closet was indeed a mess. Sal asked if there was a cat that lived here and the Ovulis replied "pet". At another point Sal held his cross in hand and asked "do you know what this is, and the machine said "Angel on Earth".

          Some of the other words the Ovulis said throughout the night were: Table, water, mom, apple, stomach, and Peter.  In the room it said table, water, and mom, was a table and on top of the table was a bottle of holey water and a picture of the clients mom. We later asked the client if these words meant anything to her and she said her mom, who has passed, use to peel apples all the time for the kids and that Peter had predicted that her mom was sick and was going to pass. We asked her if stomach meant anything to her and she said a few days after we were at her house, she went to the doctor and was diagnosed with stomach problems.

         Was this the spirit of her mom trying to tell her daughter she was there with her? We do not know for sure. The Ovilus is still a new piece of equipment that we are testing and nothing is proven fact with it yet. It does spit out random words when it is first turned on. So was this a coincidence? Time will tell.
