History:
This
house in Glastonbury, Ct was built some time in the mid 1700's. It sits on the edge of the Connecticut river. There are
parts of the old house made from old wood from barns and even boats. At one time long ago, there was a big flood and the majority
of the land and house was under water. Not much else is known about the property except at one time former owners kept their
dog in the basement and fed it scraps through a hole on the 1st floor. It is still unknown if anyone has passed away
here in the last 300 years.
Activity:
Our clients have lived in the house for about 10 years
now and claim to have experienced paranormal activity ever since they moved in. They have even named their ghost "Jack".
They figure its a male because they frequently hear loud footsteps going up the first floor
stairs to the 2nd floor while hearing the sound of a ring clinking on the stair railing. Footsteps are also heard in
the 2nd floor hallway from time to time.
Things that go missing in the house reappear in odd places. In one instance, the client lost
a favorite coin of his. He then asked "Jack" if he could return it or find it. Shortly after, the coin was
found sitting in the middle of one of the stair steps.
There have been times when voices can be heard or the clients will hear their name being called when
nobody else is around. Strange feelings of being watched or the feeling of not being alone will occur in the basement.
The clients very young daughter has seen "Jack"
in her bedroom watching over her from in the corner of the room. The radio in her room will also turn on and off by-itself.
In the bathroom outside her room, magazines have been tossed out of a cabinet.
There was one instance when the client was coming out of the kitchen and saw the apparition come
out of the bathroom, walk through the dining rooom, and up the stairs.
The
investigation:
We showed up around 7pm with 6 members of our group for this case. We set up a surveillance
camera in the dining room shooting towards the bathroom where the client saw "Jack". We also set up camcorders in
girls room and one shooting up the staircase.
We then
armed ourselves with all the necessary equipment to try and catch evidence of anything paranormal in the house. We had KII
meters, EMF meters, digital recorders, night-vision camcorders, IR non contact thermometers, and digital cameras.
The night started off fairly quiet. Things didn't pick
up until around 11pm when investigators Carrie and Tyler were in the basement and started to get a bad feeling like something
didn't want them to be down there.
A few moments
later, they heard footsteps coming from the stair landing on the 1st floor. They called everyone on the walkies and asked
if anyone was moving around up there and the reply was "No".
Ray, who was on monitor duty then replied over the walkie "It's just Jack". We later
discovered an EVP on the digital recorder Carrie and Tyler was using say "I'm here".
We had investigator Mike "Sal" Salerno sitting on the 1st floor and he heard nothing at
the time, but later discovered the loud footsteps on his digital recorder. There were even more footsteps heard in the basement over at the far end under the kitchen area.
Shortly after the footsteps were heard, investigators Mike
and Alec we
re on the 2nd floor when
Alec felt like someone was pinching him. He said he got pinched 3 times in 3 different areas. This occurred in the girls
bedroom. There were also some unexplained drafts felt in there around this time, but couldn't find the source.
A little time passed by and we decided to take a break.
While on the break, investigator Mike was sitting at the monitor talking to the client when he saw something on the monitor
get knocked over in the dining room.
We quickly
hit rewind on the tape to figure out what it was. It turns out that we had a flashlight sitting upright on the table that
an investigator placed there about hour prior to what just happened. It appeared that something knocked over the flashlight.
Nobody was in the dining room at the time the flashlight
got knocked over. We noticed on the tape that several of us walked by the area several times, but we didn't knock it over.
We even tried setting it back up and having Carrie jump up and down on the floor trying to re-create it getting knocked over.
It didn't work. So we were left scratching out heads.
The investigation
ended around 1am. It was a very eventful night. From there we wil be going over the evidence for the next couple of weeks
to see what we found.
We will
be posting all of our findings little by little, so keep checking back within the next week or so from now. 2-4-09.
Conclusion:
Based on the evidence collected
and the personal experiences that occured on the night we were here, we believe this residence to be haunted.
