History: This house in New Britain, CT was built roughly 52 years ago by the original owners. The wife passed away in
the home and the husband seemed to have a mental breakdown from his wifes death. He is still in a mental facility as far as
we know.
Claims of Activity: When the current owners purchased the house they were told by
one of the relatives of the previous owner that the deceased would be "looking after them". The house is still pretty
much in original condition, although are doing some renovations. This could potentially have "stirred up" activity,
if any. The owners claims are: they feel cold spots/breezes, a candle with a timer turns off and on although the timers is
not set, creaks/sounds of movement, a woman's voice being heard, eyeglasses moving off of various furniture, feelings
of not being alone, seeing a black shadow moving in the kitchen while on the enclosed side porch, their pet rabbit seems "edgy",
there are reported to be blood stains underneath the bedroom carpet from the previous owner, their speaker phone turns off/on
by itself, and hearing noises from the basement.
The Investigation: Due to the smaller size of the house we had just a few of our investigators
at the residence. We used our Digital Voice Recorders, EMF/K-II meters, digital cameras, and video cameras with IR lights
in a couple of the rooms with purported activity. Not much happened that night, although after setting up an investigator
was watching the monitor and noticed a possible bright orb come into the picture and then turned and zipped away. Two other
investigators said that they also saw a ball of light moving across the room in 2 different locations. Other than that, it
was a pretty quiet night.
Conclusion: Since it was a pretty quiet night, it is extremely hard to say whether
this residence is haunted or not. We feel the evidence is inconclusive.
