History:
CPEAR was contacted by Soulsandspirits.com out of NYC to join them on this investigation of the antique shop in Hohokus, NJ.
The only history I know of the place is the 8,000 sq ft warehouse thats there now was built where a barn use to be. So it
must have been some kind of farm land back in the day. Was there a house on the property? What was the property used for before
the barn? Has there ever been a death on the property?
These are all questions that are unanswered for now. CPEAR didn't have enough time to research the property and the owner
only knew about the barn, but is convinced something paranormal is going on there.
There are thousands of old antiques from all over the world through out 3 floors of this warehouse. It is very possible that
something paranormal could be attached to one or many of these old antiques.
Activity:
Often time you can smell cigar smoke in different parts of the building. The sounds of furniture being moved has been heard.
Footsteps on the floors above have been heard when the store is empty. Loud bangs as if someone is hitting the furniture
with a wooden stick have been heard. A door flew off one of the cabinets and struck a woman after she was poking fun
at ghosts. Many times the front door will be unlocked and all the lights on in the morning when the owner arrives to open
up after he closed up the previous night.
The
investigation:
We had 3 memebers
from the CPEAR team here on this investigation and 4 memebrs from Souls and Spirts. We brought in all of our equipment to
cover as much of the building as possible. We had EMF meters, KII meters, digital recorders, IR thermometers, video cameras,
and the other team brought in a Quija baord to try and communicate with whatever could be there.
