The Rundown:  This was a unique case where the client contacted us on MySpace about doing an investigation of their house, not because they were scared, but because they were interested in trying to get some kind of message and to see what kind of paranormal activity we could catch.

This house was built in 1946 by the client's parents. It is a family owned house and nobody else has lived there but the client and his family. The basement of this house is where the client's parents pretty much lived their lives. The basement was complete with kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom.  The 2 floors upstairs is where the client stays with his wife and kids.

The client's Grandmother passed away in the backyard of this house a few years back and his mother passed in the home last year. His father, who had lung cancer, also passed but not in the home. It wasn't until his mother passed before activity in the home, mostly in the basement where his parents stayed, had picked up.

Claims of activity here include: Client hearing his mother whistling from the basement, unexplained knocks and loud noises like a light bulb/glass breaking, the TV that was the client's mothers' shuts off by itself when left on at night, lighters continuously go missing around the house, the dog being pet by an unseen person, an orb has been seen in the basement by the client's daughter with her grandfather in it sitting in a rocking chair next to a dog, and an apparition of the client's grandmother-in-law standing over the baby's crib.

The Investigation:We had 7 team members on this night to cover the whole house. We had 4 video cameras, 1 surveillance camera, EMF meters, digital recorders, IR thermometers,  KII meters, and digital cameras. We also set up lighters throughout the first floor and basement with cameras on them in case they went missing. We also placed the surveillance camera on the TV in the basement that supposedly shuts off on its own.

During the investigation, Carrie and Sarah were in the basement doing an EVP session and taking phographs around 9pm when Carrie thought she saw a shadow figure standing in the living room for a split second. Around the same time Sarah thought she saw someone walking around outside the window in the backyard. We looked and nobody was there except for the cat......was this the cat she saw??

At one other point in the evening when one of our investigators asked if the spirit could make a loud noise for us to let us know it was here, there was a single bang that came from near the entrance way to the basement. The question was asked again if t could make another noise...and nothing.

A strange pulsating orb like anomaly was caught on video in the basement in the bedroom. Some of us believe it could be dust and some of us believe it could be something else. When you see the video, you decide.

Around 11pm, Investigators Ray, Tyler, and Mike were in the basement asking if "it" could shut the TV off for us and the question "If you want Chuck to stop smoking can you give us a sign?" After asking the question, the TV did shut off on its own. Nobody was anywhere near the TV.

We turned the TV back on and continued to ask questions. About 17 minutes later Ray was doing some light provoking and asked "we will leave if you can shut the TV off again.Sure enough the TV shut off on its own. Keep in mind, we had the TV on for about 4 hours prior to this and it didn't go off once. The claims were the TV would shut off on its own in the early morning hours of around 3am. This time is shut off around 11pm. Of course we did originally think it could be on a timer, but it didn't appear so after we checked the TV settings. Also, timers don't usually have the TV go off in 17 min after it goes off the first time. Its usually an even number of minutes. We did manage to catch this on video.

We also caught one of our infrared lights going off and back on again by itself within those 17mins of the TV shutting off for the 2nd time while in the basement. The light went off after asking similar questions like "can you shut off the TV?" Instead of the TV, it shut the light off maybe thinking we could see the light, except you cant see an IR light with the naked eye, but maybe a spirit can. It may have been trying to get our attention.

We ended our investigation around 11:30pm when the client and his family came back home for the night. All in all it seemed to be an eventful night.

Conclusion:  The basement of this house seems to have paranormal activity.

Click the link below to view the video of the IR light turning off and then back on by itself. This IR light was placed right below the video camera. (keep in mind, the investigators can't see the light turning on & off due to it being IR) This happened when Investigator Ray asked "If you want Chuck to stop smoking so he can live longer, can you shut the TV off?" Then about 2 min later (the clip is edited) when Ray asked a similar question, it happens again, on command. Of course it wasn't the TV...this time. This happened in between the 2 times the TV shut off by itself in the next room over.

Update: The IR laight has turned off own its own several times since this case. Evidence is now disproved.

This is a video of the TV shutting off on its own and then it shuts off on its own again 17 min later after we turn it back on. This video is edited to be shorter.

It moves across the upper right side of the screen. Is this something paranormal or is it just dust? You decide..... (The video is looped 3 times)

Update: Later, this was found to be a piece of dust that was rotating and catching the IR light just right so it makes a strobing/flashing effect. This evidence is disproved.
