 AGENT - 
(aka sender) -
1)in ESP (or GESP) experiments, it is the person who is attempting to transmit the information to the subject (receiver).
2) In regards to psychokinesis, it is the subject or the person causing the phenomena.
3) In regards to poltergeists, it is the person who is the focus of poltergeist activity.
4) In regards to hauntings or the demonic, it is the spirit(s) and/or demons causing the phenomena.
Allotriophagy-
The regurgitation of objects not normally found amongst the typical contents of the human stomach.  This is often seen
amongst the possessed, but may also arise from a psychological condition.  note - There is a medical condition in which
people will crave and eat non-edible substances.
Anomalous Phenomena-
Phenomena that science, in it's present state of knowledge, is unable to explain.
 
 Banishing-
The act of either through the practitioner or by the name of a diety, to command an unwanted entity or negative energy
to leave a person, place, or object through ceremony
Baphomet-
A popular symbol created by Eliphas Levi based on the gargoyles found on the Knights Templar chapels.  This was used in
the accusations against the Knights Templar as a false diety that they confessed to worship in the form of a severed mans
head or goats head on an alter.  With a mix of man w/ animal features, it later represented a higher spiritual state by
occultists. The Church of Satan still uses the ram's head from the image in the inverted pentagram as the center of their
ritual.
Basic Technique-
A term used in testing clairvoyant abilities in which the top card of a deck is placed to one side indicating either
success or failure after each guess.
Billet Reading-
Procedure in which a question is secretly written on a piece of paper that is folded or sealed in an envelope and handed
to the psychic who will attempt to answer the question. 
Black Mass-
Classically, a ceremony that was a mockery of the Christian mass alledgedly conducted by accused witches.  Today it is a
ceremony that is held by the Church of Satan in private with some similiarities to the classical discription.
Bloodstone-
A green stone with red running through it that is used in protection dealing with negative spirits.  The red in the stone
was believed to be the blood that came from Christ's side during his crucifixion.
Casting the circle-
The act of creating a circle of protection before a ritual or ceremony. This is done by either visualization or physical
means.
 
 Clairaudience-
The ability to ascertain information through the hearing of sounds beyond the natrual range of hearing.
Clairsentience-
The ability to ascertain information through the physical sensation (e.g. feeling, smell) of events at remote locations. It
is sometimes used as a general term for clairvoyance and clairaudience.
Clairvoyance-
The ability to ascertain information through the seeing of objects or events beyond the natural range of vision and without
the use of the normal senses (eye vision) or the mind of another person.   The view may appear externally e.g. partially
replacing the normal visual scene or internally in the form of mental imagery.
Decline Effect-
A tendency towards diminishing results over the course of an experiment or an experimental session.
Deceptive Phantom Theory-
The belief that all spirits on earth are the demonic.  The demonic trick humans into thinking that they are the spirits of
the departed.
Deliverance-
An exorcism of a person or persons from a spirit or demon believed to cause affliction.  Deliverance ministry, in theory,
can be practiced by anyone who has been baptized in the Christian faith.  A Christian movement, known as the Charismatics,
are known to use this method.  The Roman Rituals are not used. A Deliverance does not need the approval of a Bishop in the
Catholic Church, though priests are still the majority who practice Deliverances throughout the country.
Divining Rod-
The tool used by dowsers, often a forked twig
Dowsing-
The ability to find underground water, oil, coal, minerals, archaeological sites or lost or missing persons and objects
using a divining rod or pendulum. 
Eclectic-
A person who utilized various religious ideologies in order to form a personal philosophy that suits their opinions.
Ectoplasm-
A seemingly lifelike substance, solid or vaporous in nature, which allegedly extrudes from the body of a medium and can be
transformed into materialized limbs, faces, or even entire bodies of spirits.  Ectoplasm has been known to appear as milky
white and smell like ozone.  Ghost hunters have coined a new definition for ectoplasm - any physical substance created by,
or accompanying, a spirit's materialization.
Exorcism-
A religious or quasi-religious rite to drive out unwanted spirits including demonic possession from human or animal hosts
or from objects or places.  Exorcism is used in Christian and other religions as well as in indigenous cultures. A milder
alternative is SRT-Spirit Releasement Therapy or Deliverance. In Roman Catholicism, a bishop of a diocese must approve an
exorcism. Catholic doctrine, as set forth in the Roman Rituals, requires at least three manifestations to occur in order to
 validate demonic possession. They are 1) Speaking foreign or ancient languages to which the possessed person had no prior
knowledge of. 2) Supernatural strength. 3) Having supernatural knowledge of the things the possessed should not know
(psychic ability.  The possessed is also supposed to show a strong dislike for holy and religious objects including the
cross and holy water. 
Fairy light - (also known as Ignus Fautus or Spirit fire)
Unexplained light that has been witnessed throughout history and has been called by various names dependant on time and
culture.  Regardless of nomenclature, it si often seen as balls of light moving around either at dusk,night, or just before
dawn. They are unpredictable and come unexpectedly. There are a multitude of explanations for this phenomenon with the most
popular being flares from gases igniting, typically from a swamp or a bog.
Glossolalia-
Unintelligible speech generally uttered in a dissociated or trance state.  AKA - speaking in tongues. 
Golden Rod-
A rare anomaly seen in videotape recorded at the site of a suspected haunting, appearing as bright, white or yellowish
lines rapidly moving across the room. 
Haunting-
Recurrent paranormal phenomena such as apparitions, unexplained sounds, or object movements that are consistent with a
particular location. There are usually 4 categorized types which are Intelligent or responsive to environment, poltergeist
which is likely initiated by pent-up stress on a subconcious level, residual or replaying with no responsive interaction,
and demonic which is that of non-human origin. 
Hellmouth-
Location or site that is believed to be a portal for the demonic.
 
 Imprint or Residual-
Ghostly activity that appears nonconscious and redundant.
Incline Effect-
An increase in performace on a psi test when the test is repeated.
Incubus-
a demonic entity capable of sexually arousing and sometimes assaulting human females. Counterpart of Succubus. 
Infestation-
Repeated and persistent paranormal phenomana generally centered around a particular location or persons. aka-haunting 
Instrumentalism-
A philosophy that holds that ideas and concepts should be regarded as tools or istruments to be used in specific situations.
 As such, they cannot be described as true or false but only as effective or ineffective.
Iron-
A metal that has been used to repel a variety of beings in history including vampires, witches, ghosts, demons, and fae
(or preternatural beings). An iron key is sometimes carried for protection and an iron horseshoe is placed over the front
door to protect the people in the house from ill will and to bring about good luck.
Lepke-
A very unique spiritual manifestation, a ghost appearing as a solid living person - may even converse with someone - then
suddenly vanishes. Such apparitions are most often reported to have been encountered within, or immediately outside, of
 cemeteries. 
Leylines-
Lines or streams of energy that have been mapped out on the surface of the Earth.  They can not be seen with the naked eye,
but are usually felt by people believed to be sensitive to this form of energy.  They are usually mapped out with the use of
 dowsing rods. Many places that are considered sacred, such as Stonehenge, were built on the crossroads of leylines.
Levitation-
The raising or suspension of persons or objects into the air without any apparent agency as required by known physical
laws - e.g. laws of motion and gravity.
Lurking Enigma-
an entity which is visable to human observers yet appears distorted and unidentifiable and furtively moves about. Can also
present with glowing red or silver eyes, dark coloring like fur or feathers, startling speed and flight.  
 Lucid dreaming-
Dreaming in which the person is aware that the experience is a dream.  One can be lucid in any of the dreaming states of
 consciousness. Often associated with feelings of aliveness and freedom.
Materialization-
A ghost appearing visually, suddenly or gradually, sometimes indistinct, sometimes solid. 
Matrixing-
A natural tendancy for the human mind to interpret sensory input or what is being perceived visually, audibly, or tactiley
as something familiar or more easily understood and accepted.  Mentally "filling in the blanks".  
Mirror-
Can be used as a gateway for spirits to pass through, but has also been known to bind spirits to the mirror or even the
frame of the mirror.  It is also used in directing energy and for Scrying. Scrying is usually conducted with a polished
black mirror.
Necromancy-
Form of divination. The calling up of and consulting with the spirits of the dead.
Occam's Razor-
The principle that we should always prefer the simplest explanation of events (in science)
Occult-
stemming from the Latin occultus or hidden, referring to the knowledge of the secret usually meaning supernatural matters,
 "occult" includes practices such as magic, astrology, witchcraft, sorcery, etc. involving esoteric (ancient greek work for
 occult) knowledge or the employment of mysterious agencies; not to be confused with scientific parapsychology
Paranormal-
Phenomena which seem to defy the known laws of science.
Paranormal dream-
Dreams in which the dream imagery provides paranormal knowledge (e.g. precognition or other ESP)
Parapsychology-
Refers to the experimental and quantitative study of paranormal (psi) phenomena; the modern equivalent of psychical
research.
Poltergeist-
Originally poltergeist referred to a recurrent "noisy ghost" or unexpained noises with no visible manifestations were
present. Poltergeist activity usually lasts for shorter periods of time than hauntings and often only for weeks or months. 
The phenomena, which tend to be associated with a person rather than a particular location, can also include the movements
or breakage of objects, cold spots, raps, footsteps, pets running from rooms, and/or feeling of being watched.  The term
poltergeist does not suggest evil or demonic spirit.  Some people feel poltergeist activity is associated with a living
person at unrest in which they release "recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis". This is where the person's own unconscious
mind is thought to recurrently and spontaneously release "psychokinetic energy" to produce various phenomena. 
Radiant Child-
The apparition of a child which is seen glowing or surrounded by a bright aura. 
Raps-
Unexplained knocking sounds associated with poltergeist activity of physical mediumship.
Recurrent Localized Apparition-
Refers to the viewing of the same apparition in the same location on several occasions and by many different people.
Remote Viewing-
Another term for clairvoyance. Specifically, and ESP experiment involving one person trying to perceive objects or
events at a distant location.
Residual (Imprint, psychic tape)-
The repeat of an event or occurrence that happened before.
 
 Retrocognition (postcognitive)-
Ability to see into the past.
Roman Rituals-
A religious text of the roman catholic church.  It contains a variety of prayers and blessings, including the official
exorcism ritual, which exorcists have used for hundreds of years. Only a priest may use the Roman Rituals.
Salt-
A mineral that can represent either the element of water or earth and is used as a material for protection and cleansing.
Satanism-
The belief that Satan will bring followers personal power over oneself, others and the external environment and, in turn,
 such power will permit them to live by whatever moral and ethical codes one wishes to adopt.  Modern Satanism was founded
 by Anton LaVey, with the Church of Satan.
Shade-
An entity resembling a once living being (human or animal) 
 Silky-
A female ghost which is attired in a rustling silk garment and performs domestic chores for a household after the occupants
 have retired for the night. 
Stigmata-
A term used to describe the sudden appearance of wounds or markings on a persons body.  May refer to the wounds received by
 Jesus Christ at the crucifixion.
Succubus-
Female counterpart of the incubus, demonic entity sait to inspire lust in men and can sometimes physically attack and
 inflict injuries.  Person will have unclean feeling and ill-feeling.
Time-displacement-
experience of a time span separate from the native time span of the observer.  The phenomenon is sometimes merely viewed
 and not participated in.  person seems to time-travel to another era.
Vampire-
An entity in the form of a deceased perosn who will drain the psychic energy of the living.
 Zarcanor-
A malevolent spirit which attacks people while they're asleep, inspiring nightmares and even inflicting injury such as
 scratches, bruises, and finger marks.
