The house was built sometime
in the late 1700's to early 1800's. There isn't much history that is known about the old house. It was used as an orphanage
at one time and an Alms house. Its unknown if any deaths occurred in the house. What is known is that the people that live
there are experiencing paranormal activity.
Many strange
occurrences have been reported in the home. A ghostly figure of a woman has been seen passing through the dining room area
and then vanishing. The closet door in the dining room has opened on its own on several occasions. Footsteps have been heard
on the 2nd floor over the dining room when nobody is up there. Apparitions have been seen outside the home in the front yard.
There was one instance a young boy was seen and was rumored to be buried on the property. Strange orbs of light have also
been seen passing in front of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The sound of marbles are often heard out by the staircase in
the middle of the night.
The clients contacted CPEAR looking for answers to
the strange occurrences. They have even been so scared at times, they have left the house to stay at a near by hotel.
They have even moved there bedroom from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor where they seem to feel more comfortable.
Members of CPEAR investigated at the home on 2 seperate nights to see if they could
find answers to some of the claims of activity in the home. All the normal ghost hunting equipment was used for this investigation
to try and capture any signs of activity.
At one
point in the night, a couple of investigators were on the 2nd floor when they did indeed hear the sound of what sounded
like marbles being hit together. Upon investigating the sound, the source of the sound couldn't be located.At another point in the night, it sounded like someone was walking around along the
outside of the back of the house. Investigators quickly went to the area and found nothing.While in the basement, an EVP was captured on digital recorder. It sounded like it said
"Stone Gate". No question was asked before the EVP. We weren't sure what it meant. We asked the clients if it meant
anything to them and one of the clients said he use to live in Stone Gate apartments, but had no other meaning.
We weren't able to capture
any other activity in the 2 nights we were in the home. Some things couldn't be explained. One possible explanation for seeing
apparitions outside the house could be real people walking by. The footsteps that are heard could be the neighbors dog walking
around next door in the adjoined apartment. The orbs of light that are seen could be ones eyes playing tricks in the middle
of the night after waking up from a deep sleep. These are just some possible explanations, but not necessarily what is really
going on.
CPEAR didn't find enough evidence to say the house
is haunted. If activity is going on in the home, it seems that its more than likely residual, like a movie that plays over
and over and has no intelligence to it. Its something that does not interact with you or know that your there.
We did sit down with the clients and try to edjucate them as much as possible on the
paranormal and we let them know that we didnt feel that there was anything to worry about it in the home.
