CPEAR was contacted
late in the summer by a resident of East Hartford looking for help with things that were happening inside their home.
CPEAR co founder Mike Mafera and Lead Investigator Chuck Feltman, came to the residence to meet with the client. The
overall claims of activity were centered around the mother and her young daughters. Some of the claims were of footsteps
being heard, shadows, the feeling of being watched and noises coming from the basement. Also, the day that CPEAR came
to the house and were coming up the sidewalk, a curtain rod came off the wall in the front room. Mike also had
an uncomfortable feeling while conducting the interview in the kitchen.
Researcher Ann Marie conducted
a search on the property and discovered that the house had originally been built in 1836 and it was a residence from that
time to the present. There was nothing discovered as far as anyone passing in the house besides someone from the current
family that resided there. There was nothing else of significance that was noted on the research.
CPEAR utilized 8 investigators that night and a wide array of equipment from a 6 camera surveillance system, digital audio,
emf equipment, IR video cameras and digital cameras. The team set up home base outside on the porch so every area of
the house could be thoroughly investigated. The weather was mild and clear with no wind.
Investigators
were sent to various points of the house for several hours to get answers for the homeowner. The daughter of the homeowner
also assisted in some parts of the investigation. Various techniques and equipment were used throughout the night.
CPEAR did not get any evp or video evidence from the home, however there was some things that were
noted to the client. There was a sizable EMF field throughout the master bedroom. Exposure to this can, as you
know, cause the feeling of being watched, uncomfortability and even hallucinations. This could be an explanation of what the
client was experiencing. Also, at one part of the night an investigator noticed that when cars were going by, there
was a main road fairly close by, the light at times would hit a couple windows and cast shadows throughout the first floor.
CPEAR can not say at this point that there is anything paranormal happening at the residence.
As a
side note the homeowner did have the house blessed by a parish priest as well as using sage prior to the investigation.
At this point the family has no longer had any further occurrences and we were happy we were able to come in and give the
family answers to their questions. Thank you for inviting us in to your home.
